Steve Russell

Over 30yrs now working in education, of which 20 of those have seen me specialising in ‘behaviour’ – and I still see so much to be done, not least of all in the area of inclusion when it comes to Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs. My various roles have included as a teacher, SENCO, behaviour support outreach teacher and a range of senior leadership roles within local authorities and schools. Now, working independently, you will never find me far from being alongside school and social care staff as they seek to look beyond youngsters’ behaviour and to develop compassionate, well-informed responses to support their wellbeing and education outcomes.

I am delighted to be able to channel some of this passion through the work of SEBDA. It is a privilege to be a part of the National Council, working alongside such committed and highly experienced professionals and supporting the organisation as a leading voice in the area of SEMH.
