ABOUT SEBDA

Promoting the social and emotional well being of CYP by promoting understanding of their needs and supporting those who work with them.

SEBDA exists to promote the social and emotional well being of children and young people – and the well being of the professionals who work with them.

SEBDA is committed to social inclusion and to building capacity in mainstream schools in the support of children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

The four strands of work undertaken by SEBDA include:

  • SEBDA’s EBD journal: SEBDA publishes the internationally recognised academic journal ‘Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties’ four times a year. This is free to all members.
  • SEBDA Campaigning: SEBDA links with the DFE, nasen, Council for Disabled Children, ENSEC and other organisations to influence and inform policy nationally and internationally. SEBDA campaigns for better services for children and young people experiencing SEMH difficulties and better support for those who work with them.
  • SEBDA Research: SEBDA aims to contribute to, lead and share evidence based practice.
  • SEBDA Professional Development: SEBDA delivers effective and relevant professional development including national conferences, CPD and Masters level training courses.
