Business Plan 2019 – 2022
Executive summary
SEBDA is a multi-disciplinary association. It serves the interests of children and young people experiencing difficulties in their social, emotional and mental health development by:
-
- promoting understanding of their needs
- supporting those who work with them
- providing training and education
- engaging with policy making agencies and service providers
- disseminating good practice.
A new business plan for 2023 – 2026 is in preparation.
In the year 2020-2021 SEBDA planned:
-
- To increase the understanding and skills of the staff working with children with SEMH by increasing:
- Course/conference provision and uptake
- EBD Journal sales
- Membership
- Interaction via social media
- To be actively involved in local and national government initiatives and work with partners in order to influence policy in such a way that it will be of benefit to children and young people, especially those with SEMH and the adults who work with them.
- To increase membership and course uptake and improved online presence.
- To review and further develop our business and administrative strategies to increase the efficiency of the organisation.

In the year 2021-2022 SEBDA planned:
- To explore the feasibility of hosting an international conference in 2021.
- To further increase numbers accessing post graduate courses.
- To continue to be actively involved in local and national government initiatives in order to influence policy so that it best meets the needs of children and young people with SEMH
- To further increase the CPD offer of short courses.
- To further increase membership and extend the benefits to members.
- To increase sharing of good practice through publications and updated website.
- To raise the profile of SEBDA through patronage and sponsorship.
- To review the SEBDA Constitution.
